Academic staff profile and e-learning experience (GMBS)
GMBS works with a team of academic staff composed of internal and external lecturers who remain active in higher education teaching and bring long-term university-level experience. Across their previous and current university appointments, online and blended teaching approaches are part of standard practice, including the use of learning management systems (LMS), online collaboration tools, and online assessment methods. The lecturers' professional profiles and CVs are available on the GMBS website.
The staff mix includes lecturers with direct experience in online delivery and LMS-based teaching, and also lecturers whose academic work relates to digital education themes. Within the team, there are examples of relevant publications and projects addressing e-learning topics such as distance learning, development of e-learning modules, electronic methods of education, and mobile learning / flexible higher education models.
In 2025, the academic staff completed a structured training package focused on online provision. The package consisted of three training activities (each 6 hours): a kick-off session on GMBS online provision standards and teaching readiness, a hands-on workshop on instructional design and course production (templates, QA checklists, accessibility, and controlled updates), and a practical session on online teaching in the LMS with learning analytics.
Two strategic partnerships support continuous staff development in these areas. A Memorandum of Understanding with e-learnmedia focuses on consistent online learning standards, an instructional design framework (templates, minimum course standards, assessment formats, accessibility), a structured content production pipeline, learning analytics, and workshops for lecturers. A Memorandum of Understanding with ITernal focuses on digital enablement of academic operations, traceable processes, reporting aligned to quality assurance needs, and structured training with training materials and logs as part of operational capacity building.
The same training activities are scheduled again prior to the launch of teaching, and a recurring cycle of training and monitoring runs at least four times per academic year to keep staff practice aligned with online provision standards and continuous improvement expectations.
