INTRODUCTION TO THE CREATION, MODIFICATION, APPROVAL AND CANCELLATION OF STUDY PROGRAMMES
Article 45
Introduction to the Modification, Approval and Cancellation of Study Programmes
(1) This Internal Regulation, in Articles 46 to 54, lays down the rules for the creation, modification, approval and cancellation of study programmes at the GMBS.
(2) The provisions of this Internal Regulation pursuant to Paragraph (1) establish the rules for the creation, modification, approval, and cancellation of study programmes at the GMBS and for the submission of an application for study programme accreditation, in which GMBS seeks MFHEA accreditation.
PART 2.2
RULES FOR THE CREATION AND APPROVAL OF NEW STUDY PROGRAMME
Article 46
General Rules for the Creation and Approval of a New Study Programme
(1) A new study programme at the GMBS can be created upon a decision of the GMBS Accreditation Council at the level of study in which GMBS is authorized to create and implement study programmes.
(2) A proposal for the creation of a new study programme will be made by the relevant GMBS Curriculum Council.
(3) The Rector will submit a proposal for the creation of a new study programme to the GMBS Accreditation Council.
(4) If the GMBS Accreditation Council confirms that the proposed new study programme is in compliance with the study programme standard and other related MFHEA rules for study programme development, they will approve the creation of the new study programme; otherwise, they will reject the proposal.
Article 47
Suggestion, Plan and Draft for a New Study Programme
(1) The creation of a new study programme is preceded by the development of a suggestion for the creation of a new study programme and the development of a plan for the creation of a new study programme, the aim of which is to express the relevance of the new study programme for both practice and GMBS. The Rector submits the suggestion for the creation of a new study programme to an authority from practice for his/her opinion. The intention to accredit a new study programme, together with a justification, shall be submitted by the candidate to the Sponsor (For the purposes of this Internal Regulation, the study programme Sponsor is the person, who has the main responsibility for the implementation, development and quality assurance of the study programme according to Article 6 (4) of the Standards for study programmes.) or candidate to Co-Sponsor (For the purposes of this Internal Regulation, Co-Sponsors of a study programme are persons according to Article 7 (2) of the Standards for study programmes.) of the study programme to the Rector for approval.
(2) The intention of the new study programme includes:
a) Justification of the need for the new study programme;
b) The expected profile of the graduate and the expected employment opportunities for graduates of the new study programme in the labour market;
c) A staffing proposal with an appropriate level of creative activity;
d) A description of the material, technical and spatial provision for the implementation of the new study programme.
(3) If the Rector approves the intention of a new study programme, he/she shall appoint additional members of the GMBS Curriculum Council as necessary in accordance with the provisions hereof.
(4) The proposal for a new study programme shall be developed by the GMBS Curriculum Council in accordance with the approved intention of the new study programme. The Sponsor of the study programme is responsible for the professional quality and content correctness of the draft study programme.
(5) The GMBS Curriculum Council will develop a proposal for a new study programme in accordance with the MFHEA standards for study programmes and the standards for the Internal Quality Assurance System for Higher Education. The development of the proposal includes the preparation of an application for study programme accreditation with the relevant annexes according to the requirements of the MFHEA.
(6) The application for accreditation of a new study programme together with the relevant annexes shall be submitted by the Rector to the GMBS Accreditation Council for discussion and approval.
Article 48
Approval of the Proposal for a New Study Programme
(1) After the GMBS Accreditation Council have discussed and approved the application, MFHEA decides on the accreditation of the new study programme at the GMBS on the basis of an application for the creation of a new study programme.
(2) The procedure and rules for the approval of the new draft study programme by the GMBS Accreditation Council are regulated by this Internal Regulation.
(3) If, after reviewing the application for a new study programme accreditation, in which the GMBS seeks accreditation of MFHEA, the GMBS Accreditation Council decides to approve the application, the GMBS Rector shall promptly submit the application for the study programme accreditation to the MFHEA.
Article 49
Approval of Study Programme Modification
(1) The GMBS Accreditation Council decides on any modification of the study programme at the GMBS upon the Rector's request.
(2) The procedure for the approval of a proposal for modification of a study programme by the GMBS Accreditation Council is governed by the provisions herein.
(3) If, after reviewing the application for study programme modification, the GMBS Accreditation Council decides its approval for the study programme modification, the Rector will request the change from the MFHEA.
PART 2.3
RULES FOR THE SUSPENSION OF STUDY PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION
Article 50
Rules for the Suspension of the Study Programme Implementation
(1) Suspension of a study programme means that it is no longer possible to admit applicants to the study programme or to create another study programme in the relevant study programme and degree.
(2) The study programme is suspended by
(a) Decision of the MFHEA;
(b) Decision of the GMBS Accreditation Council.
(3) If the GMBS Accreditation Council finds that a study programme does not meet the Study Programme Standards, it will decide to suspend the programme.
(4) In the event of suspension of a study programme, the GMBS Accreditation Council shall invite the Rector in writing to submit a proposal for modification of the study programme within a specified time limit. The Rector will request the appropriate GMBS Curriculum Council to correct the deficiencies and ensure compliance with the standards.
(5) Upon suspension of the study program, the Rector will submit the following to the GMBS Accreditation Council:
a) Proposal to modify the study programme to create a prerequisite to meet the Study Programme Standards, or
b) Proposal to cancel the study programme.
(6) The decision-making procedure of the GMBS Accreditation Council in the matter of suspension of a study programme shall be governed by the provisions of this Internal Regulation.
(7) When a study programme is suspended, it is no longer possible to admit applicants to the suspended study programme.
PART 2.4
RULES FOR THE CANCELLATION OF A STUDY PROGRAMME
Article 51
General Rules for the Cancellation of a Study Programme
(1) Upon the entry into force of a decision on the cancellation of a study programme, the teaching of the subjects of the cancelled study programme shall be discontinued. The Rector is obliged to take measures to ensure that students enrolled in this programme are given the opportunity to continue their studies in another study programme. The study programme is cancelled by
a) Decision of the MFHEA;
b) Decision of the GMBS Accreditation Council.
(2) The GMBS Accreditation Council shall decide on the cancellation of the study programme at the GMBS pursuant to Paragraph 1(b) of this Article upon the application for cancellation of a study programme.
(3) The Rector submits the application with the justification for the cancellation of the study programme to the GMBS Accreditation Council.
(4) The Rector may submit to the GMBS Accreditation Council a proposal for the cancellation of a study programme, if he/she finds that the study programme does not meet the standards for the Internal System and the Study Programme Standards, and the identified deficiencies cannot be remedied by modifying the study programme.
(5) The procedure for the approval of the study programme cancellation by the GMBS Accreditation Council is governed by the provisions herein.
(6) Based on the decision of the GMBS Accreditation Council to cancel a study programme, the Rector shall ensure that the study programme is cancelled in the Register of Study Programmes.

APPLICATIONS
Article 52
Introduction to the Creation, Modification, Approval and Cancellation of Study Programmes
(1) The official application forms and attachments resulting from the requirements of the MFHEA and the requirements of the GMBS Internal Regulation shall be used in applying for the creation, modification, suspension, and cancellation of a study programme.
