Information about the Organisation
GMBS Education Group Limited is an education company incorporated as a limited liability company (Ltd) under Maltese law, registration number C 109692, established for the purpose of operating and developing Global Management Business School (GMBS)—an internationally oriented institution delivering higher education and professional academic programmes in management, business, and related disciplines. The company serves as the central operational and governance entity responsible for strategic direction, organisational processes, financial sustainability, and the implementation of internal quality assurance systems in line with applicable regulatory requirements.
The company's ownership structure is transparent and stable. Maria Kopacova holds a 50% shareholding and is the Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO). Daniel Lajcin and Gabriela Gabrhelova each hold a 25% shareholding. This structure brings together three complementary types of competence that are critical for the successful operation of a higher education provider: (1) strategic and institutional leadership, (2) academic and pedagogical leadership, and (3) international connectivity and cooperation with external partners.

A key strength of GMBS is that its founders are not merely formal shareholders but individuals with demonstrable experience in the higher education sector, institutional building, academic governance and quality assurance.
Daniel Lajcin is a Professor of Management (appointed by the President of the Slovak Republic) and an Associate Professor of Pedagogy with a strong academic profile and long-standing experience in strategic leadership. He is the founder and owner of DTI University in Slovakia, a higher education institution with approximately a 20-year history and stable operations, currently educating more than 6,000 students. This experience is highly relevant for GMBS as it demonstrates the capacity to establish and sustain effective institutional structures, academic governance, study programme development, quality mechanisms, and long-term sustainability of a higher education provider. In addition, Prof. Lajčin has substantial research activity, publication outputs, and experience in leading international research projects, further strengthening the academic credibility and international profile of the organisation.
Gabriela Gabrhelová is a Professor of Pedagogy (appointed by the President of the Slovak Republic) and an Associate Professor (Docent) of Management. She is also the Director and co-founder of DTI University, where she has demonstrable leadership and academic experience in the strategic management of a higher education institution, quality assurance governance, study programme development, and the coordination of academic and administrative processes. Her professional specialisation sits at the intersection of educational sciences and management, with long-term engagement in professionally oriented education, subject didactics, the didactics of practical training, pedagogical and professional communication, teacher competence development, and the implementation of quality assurance mechanisms. She is also highly active in research and scholarship and is the author and co-author of scientific monographs and higher education textbooks published by both international and national publishers, with a research focus on the quality of pedagogical processes, teacher stress and workload, resilience in school environments, and effective models linking education with labour market needs. The honorary title Doctor honoris causa (Dr. h.c.) further confirms her academic recognition and standing.
The third key pillar of GMBS leadership is Maria Kopáčová, BA, MBA, co-founder of GMBS and the company's UBO, who brings significant international management and partnership capacity to the organisation. She is a graduate of DTI University, holding a Bachelor's degree in Management, is currently completing a Master's degree in Pedagogy, and has also completed an MBA programme in Organisation Management. She serves as Director of three companies specialising in building cooperation between universities, private educational institutions and the corporate sector, with a particular focus on the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). During her work in the education sector, she has successfully initiated and delivered several inter-institutional and multinational cooperation initiatives, many of which continue to operate successfully and deliver stable outcomes. This experience directly supports GMBS's strategic aim to develop international links, enhance programme relevance, and build long-term partnerships with external organisations.
Together, these three profiles provide GMBS with a robust and credible foundation for operating as a higher education provider. The organisation is built on a combination of: (1) verified experience in establishing and managing an established higher education institution, (2) academic and pedagogical leadership supported by demonstrable research and publication activity, and (3) professional international partnership development and cross-border cooperation management. As a result, GMBS demonstrates the capacity to deliver quality and sustainable education, develop study programmes, implement internal quality assurance processes, and build stable international connections in line with the regulatory framework and quality assurance expectations.
Added Value and Strategic Rationale of GMBS
GMBS has been established as a modern higher education institution with a clear strategic objective to respond to the growing demand for flexible, professionally oriented and internationally relevant higher education. It is conceived as a fully online academic environment that enables study without geographical barriers, while at the same time maintaining high standards of academic quality, transparency and demonstrability of the learning process. This approach is particularly relevant for working professionals and international learners who require a structured yet time-compatible study model, supported by regular interaction with academic staff, consistent assessment practices and accessible academic support.
The added value of GMBS lies in its understanding of the online model not merely as a tool for access, but as a framework that enables systematic quality management and uniform academic standards across programmes. Teaching and student activities are organised and monitored through the Learning Management System (LMS), which serves as a central platform for the distribution of learning materials, academic interaction, assignment submission, assessment and feedback, as well as the documentation of academic outputs. This system-based approach enhances consistency, supports academic integrity and creates a clear audit trail of the learning process—from student engagement to assessment outcomes.
At the same time, GMBS deliberately positions itself as an institution that bridges academic quality with practical application and prepares students for real-world managerial and business challenges. The academic model is built around applied assignments, case studies, analytical tasks and structured academic discussion, which foster critical thinking, decision-making skills and professional communication. This practice-oriented focus strengthens employability while remaining firmly grounded in academic standards, ethical principles and clearly defined rules of integrity, including the responsible use of digital tools and the protection of personal data.
A distinctive element of GMBS's added value is its strong institutional and professional anchoring in key individuals with demonstrable experience in academic leadership, quality assurance systems and international cooperation. Prof. Daniel Lajčin brings proven capacity in establishing and long-term managing a higher education institution, including strategic development, governance and institutional sustainability. Prof. Gabriela Gabrhelová reinforces GMBS through her expertise in academic leadership, pedagogy and management, which are essential for the development of student-centred programmes, high-quality didactics and effective learning processes. Maria Kopáčová complements this foundation with extensive experience in building cross-border partnerships and cooperation between universities, private educational institutions and the business sector, thereby strengthening GMBS's internationalisation and its practical engagement with external stakeholders.
The strategic rationale of GMBS is therefore built on three mutually reinforcing dimensions: first, a carefully designed online learning model that ensures flexibility while maintaining structured academic participation; second, a systemically embedded approach to quality and accountability, reflected in clearly defined processes, assessment methods, documentation and continuous improvement; and third, strong institutional capacity and expert leadership, enabling GMBS to grow sustainably, develop its programmes, build trust and ensure long-term credibility in line with the expectations of MFHEA. Through this combination, GMBS represents a credible academic institution that delivers added value not only to its students, but also to the wider higher education ecosystem by providing quality-assured, internationally oriented and practice-relevant online education.
