STATUS OF THE GMBS Curriculum Council

Article 70

Status of the GMBS Curriculum Council

(1) This Internal Regulation, in Articles 76 to 83, regulates the status, scope, composition, activities, responsibilities and method of deliberation of the GMBS Curriculum Council (hereinafter also referred to as the "CC" or the "Curriculum Council").

(2) The main task of the CC is to develop proposals for the accreditation of a new study programme, and the modification/suspension/cancellation of a study programme.

PART 4.2

THE ACTIVITIES AND COMPOSITION OF THE CURRICULUM COUNCIL

Article 71

Sponsors and Co-Sponsors

(1) The documentation of the Curriculum Council and its working groups shall be produced in electronic form.

(2) Each study programme implemented at the GMBS has a designated person, who has the relevant competences and bears the main responsibility for the implementation, development and quality assurance of the study programme, or an otherwise defined integrated part of the study programme, i.e.. a main person responsible for the study programme (hereinafter referred to as "Sponsor") and other persons providing profile subjects and co-responsible for the implementation, development and quality assurance of the study programme, or an otherwise defined integrated part of the study programme, i.e., persons responsible for the study programme (hereinafter referred to as "Co-Sponsors").

(3) The Rector appoints the Sponsor and Co-Sponsors of the study programme before the start of the preparation of the study programme.

(4) Any change in the Sponsor or Co-Sponsor of the accredited study programme shall be approved by the GMBS Accreditation Council (hereinafter referred to as the "Accreditation Council") upon the proposal of the Rector.

Article 73

Activities of the Curriculum Council

(1) The activities of the CC shall be governed by this Internal Regulation, which also includes the establishment of rules for the manner and conduct of the deliberations of the CC.

(2) The main task of the CC is to prepare the proposal for any new study programme accreditation, for a study programme modification, for a study programme alignment with the MFHEA Study Programme Standards and the Standards for the Internal Quality Assurance System for Higher Education, or for suspension or cancellation of a study programme (hereinafter referred to as the "Study Programme Proposal").

(3) The Curriculum Council also carries out the following activities:

a) Is responsible for the implementation of the measures adopted by the Accreditation Council;

b) Verifies once per academic year the sustainability of the study programme; this verification includes

1. Meeting the Study Programme Standards, including the spatial, material, technical, information and personnel requirements of the study programme;

2. The prerequisites of meeting the standards for the programme of study, including the material, technical, information and staffing requirements, in the following academic year;

c) Adopts proposals for measures or adjustments to the study programme;

d) Is responsible for

1. Preparation of a study programme evaluation and its submission to the Accreditation Council at least once during the standard length of the study programme;

2. Monitoring and evaluation of the applications of candidates to the study programme and submission thereof to the Accreditation Council at least once during the standard length of the study programme;

e) Is responsible for the timeliness, availability and completeness of information about the study programme, including, in particular,

1. Information about the study programme in terms of its structure according to its internal evaluation report and the description of the study programme, including information regarding the admission procedure and conditions of admission to the study programme, the content and scope of study, forms and methods of study of the study programme and assessment of learning outcomes, conditions for proper completion of studies, the profile of the graduate and the possible employment opportunities for graduates of the study programme;

f) Considers at least once a year the results of the evaluation

1. Of student surveys in relation to the study programme,

2. Available data on graduate employability and information from employers,

3. Other information from students, graduates and lecturers across the study programme;

g) Is responsible for the preparation of input to the GMBS Education Activity Report once a year;

h) Performs other related tasks and activities.

(4) If the CC identifies that the study programme does not meet the standards for the Internal System or the Study Programme Standards, it shall immediately inform the Rector and the Accreditation Council of this fact.

Article 74

Establishment and membership of the Curriculum Council

(1) The GMBS establishes the Curriculum Council for a number of study programmes.

(2) The Rector appoints and dismisses the members of the CC.

(3) The members of the CC are

a) all Sponsors and Co-Sponsors of the study programmes in the same discipline of study;

b) A representative or representatives of employers from the relevant field of education;

c) A student representative or representatives;

d) Other members, if appointed, in particular representatives from foreign higher education institutions and universities.

(4) The members of the programme's CC may also include representatives of the GMBS academic community, who are experts in their discipline of study.

(5) The activities of the CC shall be managed by its Chairman and, in his/her absence, by the member of the CC designated by him/her.

(6) The Chairman of the CC is one of the Sponsors, who is elected by all Sponsors of the respective study programmes by an absolute majority of votes.

(7) Membership in the CC shall commence on the date of appointment as a member of the CC by the Rector.

(8) Membership of the CC shall cease upon:

a) Termination of employment of a member – as an employee of the GMBS or other employer;

b) Resignation of membership delivered to the Rector;

c) End or interruption of the student's studies;

d) Dismissal by the Rector.

Article 75

Meetings of the Curriculum Council

(1) The first meeting of the Curriculum Council shall be convened by the Rector within thirty (30) days of the appointment of all members of the Council.

(2) Subsequently, further meetings of the CC shall be convened by the Chairman of the CC or by a member of the Curriculum Council on his/her behalf.

(3) Meetings of the CC shall be held at least once per calendar year.

(4) The Chairman of the CC, or a member of the CC designated by him/her, shall preside over the conduct and proceedings of the CC meeting.

(5) In addition to its members, the Rector and Vice-Rectors, and other persons are invited to attend meetings of the CC, if circumstances so require. These persons shall not be entitled to vote.

(6) The CC has a quorum if an absolute majority of all its members are present. The members of the CC shall adopt resolutions by an absolute majority of the members present.

(7) Minutes of each meeting of the CC shall be drawn up and shall include in particular:

a) The date of the meeting;

b) Approved agenda of the meeting;

c) A brief description of the deliberations on each agenda item;

d) The full text of each resolution adopted and the numerical result of the vote on each draft resolution and on each other draft voted on during the meeting;

e) Other facts, if the Curriculum Council so decides.

(8) The attendance register is annexed to the minutes.

PART 4.3

RULES FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE DRAFT STUDY PROGRAMME

Article 76

Draft Study Programme

(1) For the purposes of this Internal Regulation, the draft study programme referred to in Article 78(2) means:

a) Draft of a new study programme;

b) Proposed modification of the study programme;

c) Proposal for the alignment of the study programme with the MFHEA Study Programme Standards and the Standards for the Internal Quality Assurance System for Higher Education;

d) Proposal to suspend or terminate the study programme.

(2) The draft study programme referred to in paragraph (1) shall be prepared by the Curriculum Council.

(3) Internal and external stakeholders participate in the development of the draft study programme under Paragraph (1).

Article 77

Documents related to the study programme

(1) Documentation relating to a study programme is to be retained.

(2) The Sponsor of the study programme is responsible for the maintenance of the study programme documentation, its content and continuous updating.

(3) The documentation for the study programme consists of:

a) Application for the study programme accreditation with all annexes thereto and according to the requirements of the MFHEA;

b) Application for modification of the study programme with related annexes or application for cancellation of the study programme;

c) Decision to grant/change/suspend accreditation, or withdraw rights;

d) Opinions of the employer (a recognised authority in practice) in creating, modifying, aligning and cancelling the study programme hereunder;

e) Documentation of the study programme subjects in the form of Subject Information Sheets;

f) The recommended Study Plan for the study programme;

g) Regular evaluation reports of the study programme;

h) Minutes of the meetings of the Curriculum Council;

i) Records of the assessment of the achievement of the learning objectives of the study programme in accordance with Part 6 hereof, governing the monitoring and assessment of quality at GMBS;

j) Other records related to the study programme demonstrating the student's activities and achievements in higher education and their assessment not listed in this paragraph.

(4) Other related documentation for the study programme also includes:

a) Records from the admission procedure of applicants to the studies of the given study programme;

b) Records of students' assessment results in the subjects of the study programme in the GMBS information system;

c) Students' final theses;

d) Opinions of the final thesis supervisor;

e) Opinions of the final thesis opponent;,

f) Originality check reports;

g) Examination minutes;

h) Evidence and results from surveys of study programme graduates and employers;

i) Other records related to the student's entire educational cycle.

Article 78

Applications in Case of Draft Study Programme

(1) The official application forms and attachments resulting from the requirements of the MFHEA and from the requirements of the GMBS Internal Regulation shall be used when applying for the creation, modification, alignment and cancellation of a study programme, and applying for accreditation of a study program or joint study program to be sent to the MFHEA.
