7 STUDY ADVISORS AND COORDINATORS FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIFIC NEEDS

Article 90

Study Advisor

(1) There are study advisors at GMBS to provide advice services to students with specific needs (such as visual or hearing impairments) in the field of study. GMBS recognises the importance of supporting students with special needs or disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing digital learning. While GMBS, as an online institution, does not operate a regular device loan programme, it provides alternative forms of digital support. In justified individual cases, the institution may assist with temporary access to essential devices or refer students to suitable external support schemes.

(2) The Study Advisor is an advisor to students in matters of study (e.g. drawing up a student's Study Plan, etc.). The study advisor is in contact with the group of students entrusted to him/her and helps to solve their study problems in cooperation with the heads of the departments and the Vice-Rector for Science, Research and Education. The Rector appoints and dismisses the Study Advisors.

(3) To ensure student mobility, the Rector appoints a GMBS Coordinator from among higher education lecturers or other GMBS employees, whose task is mainly to participate in the preparation and implementation of the international cooperation programmes in the field of education, to deal with tasks related to the sending/receiving of students, and to provide advisory services to students on the possibilities of studying at other higher education institutions.

(4) Within the framework of study counselling, students are assisted in solving study issues arising from the study regulations and other applicable legislation by the relevant officers of the GMBS Study Department.
