APPROVAL OF FINAL THESIS SUPERVISORS FOR THE BACHELOR'S AND MASTER'S DEGREE STUDY PROGRAMMES

Article 103

Approval of Final Thesis Supervisors

(1) The final thesis of the bachelor's Study Programme is the bachelor's thesis.

(2) The final thesis in the study according to the Study Program for a first postgraduate degree shall be the master's thesis.

(3) The final thesis may be considered a research thesis, an experimental thesis, a thesis with its own research results or a project, or a combination of these options.

(5) Persons supervising the final theses shall carry out the active creative activity or practical activity at a level corresponding to the degree of the study programme in the subject matter of the professional and thematic focus of the supervised theses.

(6) Final thesis supervisors are higher education lecturers with an academic degree from a recognised university at MQF/EQF level 7 or 8. The final thesis supervisor can also be an eminent expert from practice.

(7) The approval of final thesis supervisors is regulated by the Internal Regulation of the GMBS.

PART 10.2

APPROVAL OF SUPERVISORS FOR THE DOCTORAL STUDY PROGRAMME

Article 104

Approval of Supervisors

(1) Supervisors of dissertation theses are persons who have an academic degree from a recognised university at MQF/EQF level 8, and the relevant teaching, publishing or professional experience in the discipline.

(2) The condition for performing the function of a supervisor is his/her approval by the GMBS Scientific Council.

(3) The Programme Committee discusses proposals for PhD supervisors and proposals for dissertation thesis topics (Article 3 (1) of the Study Regulations for Doctoral Studies) .

(4) The Chairman of the Programme Committee submits to the Rector for approval or appointment proposals for supervisors of doctoral studies, and proposals for dissertation thesis topics, including supervisors.

(5) The supervisor proposes dissertation thesis topics, usually with an indication of the project, within which the doctoral student may carry out research, development or other creative activities;

(6) Qualification and other prerequisites for the performance of the function of a supervisor, the procedure for approval of supervisors and other details of the approval of supervisors in the conditions of GMBS shall be regulated by a special Internal Regulation.
