Memoranda of Understanding
GMBS is systematically building a portfolio of international partnerships that provides a coherent framework for academic cooperation, high-quality online delivery, the digitisation of study administration, and stronger links to international practice. From the perspective of GMBS's international profile, it is important that these collaborations involve organisations operating across several jurisdictions: the Slovak Republic (DTI University, the University Institute of Economic and Legal Sciences – UIELS, ITernal, e-learnmedia), Germany (BECO Group GmbH), and Austria (POBS Private Online Business School GmbH – Klosterneuburg). In addition, the partnership with BECO Group GmbH explicitly incorporates a cross-border Germany–China dimension in the context of international perspectives and practice exchange. BECO Group GmbH also operates a higher education campus of a German university, which naturally connects an academic environment with business and international practice.
The key academic pillar of this portfolio is the Memorandum with DTI University, which establishes a structured framework for international academic cooperation with an emphasis on internationalisation, expert academic activities, and practice-oriented outputs. The cooperation is anchored in an implementation mechanism through an Annual Academic Cooperation Plan, including the definition of activities, expected outputs, nominated coordinators, and review points, together with systematic evidence records (programmes, abstracts, presentation outlines, attendance lists, minutes, and published outputs). As a result, the partnership with DTI represents the most prominent academic element within the portfolio and provides a clear structure for planning and reviewing joint activities.
The academic dimension is further strengthened through cooperation with the University Institute of Economic and Legal Sciences (UIELS), which supports expert events, case studies, applied outputs, and the exchange of good practice in quality assurance and academic governance. GMBS's operational capability for exclusively online delivery is reinforced through e-learnmedia, which anchors instructional design standards and controlled processes for the development, updating, and quality review of online courses. The digitisation and auditability of core study processes is supported by ITernal, which provides a framework for study administration, record-keeping, audit trails, and reporting suitable for internal quality assurance. International links to practice are strengthened through BECO Group GmbH via real project briefs, case studies, the involvement of experts in teaching, and regular joint online events, with added value arising from both the connection between academic activity and business practice and the Germany–China cross-border perspective delivered through this partner. The portfolio is complemented by POBS Private Online Business School GmbH in Austria as a future-oriented partnership for international outreach, candidate guidance, and the enhancement of the learner experience in an online environment, with the effectiveness of the document linked to GMBS obtaining the necessary permissions.
Taken together, these memoranda present a consistent approach to internationalisation and partnerships at GMBS: cooperation that is defined by a clear purpose, coordination mechanisms, activity planning, and appropriate evidence of outputs. GMBS is also currently in discussions with additional higher education entities and private institutions across Europe and Asia, with the intention of expanding the portfolio through further memoranda. These planned agreements are expected to further strengthen GMBS's international position, broaden its academic and professional connections, and support the long-term sustainability and quality of online provision through additional joint activities and outputs.
